RWANDA SMILES AT UCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS CYCLING

What a Ride!

At the first-ever UCI Cycling World Championships in Africa, the Simone Smiles team of women social entrepreneurs unveiled the Rwanda Smiles Selfie Spot. A photobooth, or rather, an artwork created after careful planning and teamwork. Mission? To spread joy and give women entrepreneurs in culture, fashion, art, charity, and sports their deserved stage while building connections.

Want to Share a Smile With Us Too?

Kimihurura, Home Free Hotel is the place to be from Tuesday until Friday. A mega media truck became the place to capture smiles. On Wednesday at 1 PM, the Dutch Ambassador will join for a symbolic ride on the orange bicycle, adding a Dutch touch to Rwanda’s Land of a Thousand Hills. Saturday the artwork moves to the Holland House in Soy. It's not sure what the new home of the piece will be. To be continued.

Why Smiles Matter

In a country facing high youth unemployment and ongoing challenges for women, a smile is more than an expression. It is a bridge of hope and connection. Rwanda Smiles shows how women, by co-creating and lifting one another higher, can transform challenges into opportunities.

This initiative was supported by the Dutch Embassy, making the Rwanda Smiles Selfie Spot a true stage for connection of talented young women entrepreneurs.
